Tuesdays are a rough day.   I have a meeting at 7:00 am, I have to get out of the house early, so I get the kids up a bit earlier.  They are ready when I leave, basically.  Max got bored so he brought me a book.  I had to get on my way to work so I said “Derek, read this to Max!”  Well, Max was a bit resistant but ultimately, it all worked out.

Kind of crazy … just the whole thing.  Derek can read 2nd and 3rd grade books, Max loves books now, but doesn’t alway like to take them in sequentially.  Page 1, 3, 2 9, 4….  He has fun with it!

The cuteness of this picture actually almost makes up for Max waking up for 2 hours in the middle of the night.  I look forward to the teenage years when they sleep all the time!  Don’t mention driving or dating, I told Derek he could have a girlfriend when he turned 31.

Derek gets Webster filled up .

Derek has been saving his money for a long time. He has made some money doing chores, he has made some for being good, got some gifts here and there… whatever, he had $45 and wanted to go to Build-a-bear. Tiz all good! He got a cool Shreck doll he named “Webster”. Odd, yes. But alright none the less.

Max got his first semi-memorable trip to build-a-bear in. He got a ghost doll. It was adorable. He picked it out, went through the process. It was fun for everybody. Maybe if I get bored, i will tell you about our chilis-bad-experience, part II. We are up to 2 trips to chilis, both with an issue. $40 in coupons and a free meal too. All we want is a pleasant dining experience. Is that too much to ask for?

Derek got the T-rex dinosaur kit for his birthday. It came in a block of compacted rocks. All hidden and stuff. Really kinda cool. You had chip away all the stuff with a hammer and chisel then assemble your bones.
This picture actually HIDES a unique feature of this prehistoric dinosaur of mass destruction.
Who know the T-rex was really a tri-pod?

So here it is… 2 years later! Wow, it seems like just yesterday I was emailing all my friends telling them that I had two kids! He weighed in at 8 pounds 6oz and just laid there and screamed a lot. Well, that’s all done now! He walks, he talks, he still poops… but hey, so do I and I am almost 40. This is a picture I will get printed and framed. I am not much of a print and framer, but this one I will.
For the b-day, 2 of my sister-in-laws and their kids came into town. Also, my mother-in-law. It was a good time. Lots of photos are available so just let me know if you want to see them. I managed to make everybody happy making french toast and spaghetti. Today, we are going to bring it back to the Americas and have some dirty ole messican food!

That’s right! I am going to thump a leprechaun! I mean, the end of the rainbow is RIGHT THERE! Me and Ryan are gonna bust out and go get our pot of gold!
Realistically, that is the view my from my office right now! The shot from my desk wouldn’t come out, but it filled the windows. Wowza… never seen anything like that!
Like a rainbow in the dark….

So I busted out on a lunch ride again. Second time this week. It was pretty cool! Today I came back a different way and got on this little bike path that runs to my office. I looked at this beautiful creek… through a gently wooden path. Something I picture in a quaint Bolivian Village, but then the stark contrast… the concrete jungle over head. That’s I-285 and associated roadways. The cool thing is the little wooden bridge goes under all that!

SO … anyway! Riding is good. The ribs hurt a bit, but not much. Our new chiropractor is the bomb-digity-dawg! I went to get my back cracked. I think about the only thing he hasn’t adjusted so far is my ear lobes. I hope he doesn’t read this, he will be doing that next week! The Doc has really helped me. Good stuff there! I wont lecture on chiropractors, but if you would like to discuss my experience, you know where to find me!

As Forest would say… That’s all I have to say about that…

  • A little weekend fun

Adorable... both of them!A long night working on FGF!More mad cuteness!

So this Sunday was the “Great Georgia Air Show”. Having lived in Colorado Springs for a while, close to the Air Force Academy… now living near Dobins Air Reserve Base (where Sarah works) it’s really nothing to see an F14, F16, F22, C130 or other random air plane busting it’s collective move! We headed down to Peachtree City to see what they had in store for us. It was a little more low key, but fun none the less. The guy in the middle is me… after a hard day of coding. No, actually it’s a picture of some guy I took a picture of cuz he made me laugh!

This weekend ended a summer of effort/work. Back in May, my friend Kirk and I decided to pool all of the major track races in the country together into a series called the National Track Racing Calendar. We found prizes, found a company to make us jerseys, we gathered results and on Saturday night, I crowned the best track racers in the US! It was a really pretty cool. The only catch was, the presentation was in Los Angeles. Most of you know my luck on airplanes was dismal for a while. My bad luck was mixed with a little good luck this time! I got stuck in San Francisco for a while. About 4 hours. The cool thing was, they switched my seat to the coolest seat on the plane! Exit row, but with no seat in front of me. The only catch was I had to scurry up to the seat in front of me for my carry on luggage. This odd woman next to me also ate sushi. Where the hell somebody gets sushi on an airplane is beyond me, but she did it. I wanted to thump her and grab a roll or something, but I thought that might cause a TSA issue…

My GPS worked good and now that its a few days later, the most important thing is that the Dallas Cowboys SOME how managed to go 5-0 after playing like a high school girls field hockey team for most of the game last night. I guess that saying is true… NEVER say die! But wait… I thought we were never supposed to say never? I’m confused!

  • Reading…

Book ReadingWhenever Grandma comes she brings books. It started w/Derek, now Max! Well, Derek and Sarah headed out to sewing class, Max and I went to dinner w/Grandma. Upon return, Max entertained us for a while, then it was time to sleep. He got his bath and then it was time for BOOKS! I couldn’t resist running to get the camera! Max loves his books. It was so adorable!

Derek had a GREAT time at sewing class! He made a really cool ‘Cars’ pillow. I am trying to figure out how I can get a hold of that thing for my trip this weekend. It fits great under my neck, good size and everything! He did say he would share! He apparently sewed it all up himself. Cut it out, sewed it with a machine, then stuffed it and sewed the hole shut! A great job!
