Weather
Posted on September 22nd, 2011 No commentsIt just isn’t cooperation with my commute schedule. Kind of a bummer, but at the same time I think this rest is good. I have been so tired lately. The last two nights I slept like a baby. My legs are feeling fresher this morning. Today, commuting would probably cause added stress. Max has a game, Derek has practice, busy times.
I hope you guys all have a great day. Remember that the issues and challenges you face today are just opportunity popping up! Make the most of it. Live, learn, love and GROW!

Facebook does it again?
Posted on September 21st, 2011 No commentsThe other day, I noticed a seemingly cool feature on FB and thought “Facebook is upping their game”! I was seemingly happy as Google was lacking social in their social network. I even blogged about it about 12 hours ago. Well, then I got bored watching Biggest Loser and started reading posts on FB. I realized they had decided to change things without any warning and you know what that means…. many people will be posting about this for days to come!
Now, I sit here … pondering, if you will. Is this the thing that will push people from the FB monopoly to the Google realm of oddity? Perhaps! I will stick to my guns and tell you that G+ is a much better website – much easier to use and control! I’ve got 150 invites available and would be more than happy to invite you.
I hope you all find peace an harmony in whatever social network you use… I will tell you that I purged about 100 people from my list of people I follow on Twitter and and really am enjoying that again. Less is more? Maybe I just need a few quality peeps on g+ to make it fun!

Google plus… Or google flop?
Posted on September 20th, 2011 No commentsSo, when it came out, I was all up on Google plus. I thought WOW! The software is so much better than facebook, the integration with android, the app, the auto upload, the circles…. Man, this rocks!
Well the page is built, the thing they left out of their social network is the social. Which would you interact with more? 750,000,000 users or 20,000, 000 users? Now I know I am not that popular, but g+ is really boring. Couple that with them flicking google apps users (again) and it kind of seems like g+ will go the way of google wave, google buzz and the buffalo.
I still have hope, but facebook has turned up their game. Maybe some good will come out of this?

Not a good gone
Posted on September 19th, 2011 No commentsAhoy me hearties. I was hoping to continue my streak of fun and postings about the joys of commuting, but I think the winds of change just kicked me in my man bits. Today I felt like I was riding in pudding. The only thing that went well was my bike seemed to fit like a glove. The wind was terrible. Gusty and moist. I really didn’t have much fun, but I made it, didn’t get a flat and didn’t get squished… And I didn’t drive, and i got to work on time and I might have a tailwind on the way home. I guess that is a lot of good, if I could just take off the pessimism panties….
Well, a quick shout out to 8-bit who told me my blog is bookmarked and J-airy who busted out a ride on his favorite trail this weekend. The virtual peloton is growing!

Slow rollin
Posted on September 17th, 2011 No commentsSo I got to go for a bike ride today, not my normal Saturday stroll, but a ride none the less. I left and went to on my austell loop. It’s about 27 miles and to be honest I felt a bit like toasted moose dung. I was listening to my Jesus freak playlist, shifted down two gears and tried not to look at my computer too much. I thought through a lot of issues, i dreamed of this and fantasized about that. When I got about 5 miles from home, with a perceived exertion in the 6-7 range, I was 1.3 miles ahead of me pacer dude. When your mind is cleared and your legs move you well, it is a good day. The icing on the cake… I don’t know why, but I love riding in long sleeves. Perfect fall weather!

Augtember comes to an end
Posted on September 17th, 2011 1 commentFirst and foremost, i have acquired a new fan bringing the total up to 3! This here is a shout out to Sistah P up in the Franklin hizood! Glad to have another up in the posey!
The weather has changed for the weekend. It is now autumn in Georgia. I do think Augtember does that some how. The extra miles, the cooler temps and the fixie coming out of storage all usher in a more relaxed period of riding. I need to figure out what I am going to change to rekindle weight loss. Perhaps eating less?
Busy day today… Pictures, soccer, biking, soccer, Sarah working… Welcome to September!

Sitting in a car is so easy
Posted on September 16th, 2011 No commentsYesterday, as i drove to work, I realized how bloody easy it is to sit in a car and drive to work. The climate is controled, the radio is easy to adjust, it is just easy. Traffic is annoying, but wow… If you want to be like water (taking the path of least resistance) fire up your car and get up on it!
Having said that, the hardest thing about bike commuting is overcoming the urge to make your life easier. Sure… A shower ar home, freshly washed clothes not in a messenger bag, a 30 minute sit on my wide load is easy, but all I get out of it is movung from point A point B. When I ride, I get that, 55 minutes of quiet, cardiovascular exercise, $4 in gas money saved, odd waving friendships, people all over town saying nice things to you, fresh air, excitment… Goootimes!
Thanks for reading. This was a motivational email designed to get me to ride to work. See… After writing that, i would be a hypocrite if i didn’t ride! Knee feels better, I am tired, but it is 6 am… I am supposed to be tired! Coffee up!

Better
Posted on September 15th, 2011 No commentsThe knee is tender but better. I did ride to work yesterday without issue. That was nice. A little rest might help out? Who knows?
The weather forecast isn’t good for today, it isn’t that bad either, but with a chance of rain, a big cold front coming in, I am going to take a day off the commuter thing. I sort of am down on myself for this, but I am tired… Really tired. I need to lighten up! I have only driven to work 3 times since August 15th, teleworked 4, 1 holiday… 14 trips by bike. That’s pretty good, eh?
Just in case you were wondering, tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Not liking my knee today
Posted on September 14th, 2011 No commentsI don’t know what is going on, but my knee is really bothering me. I don’t know that it is actually a knee problem or a hamstring thing, but it has me questioning riding to work today. It is walk to school Wednesday, so I think i will give that a go and make the decision when i get back. I did commute on the fixie for the first time on Monday, maybe I just need gears today?
I want to ride… Just don’t know if it is my best idea.

Do you?
Posted on September 13th, 2011 No comments“Ride all the way from Powder Springs? “
“Do you go right past here? “
“I see you on Macland every day! “
Those were yesterday’s quotes. I don’t know why, but I love it when people say stuff like that, especially when I am commuting!
Keep the comments coming!
